Pairing an NFT to a GPU

Pairing an NFT to a GPU

When to Use This Guide

You have unpaired NFTs and physical GPUs ready to be connected.

Prerequisites

Before starting, ensure you have:

  • ✅ Unpaired NFTs in your inventory
  • ✅ Physical GPUs imported and activated
  • ✅ GPUs not currently paired to other NFTs

Steps

1. Navigate to Unpaired NFTs

Go to NFTs > Unpaired tab in the Provider Dashboard.

2. Select NFTs to Pair

  1. Review your unpaired NFT inventory
  2. Select the NFT(s) you want to pair using checkboxes
  3. Note the GPU type for each NFT

You can pair multiple NFTs at once if you have matching GPUs available.

3. Initiate Pairing

Click the "Pair" button in the top right.

4. Select Matching GPUs

In the pairing interface:

  1. Select matching GPU type

    • Must match the NFT's GPU type exactly
    • RTX 4090 NFT → RTX 4090 GPU only
  2. Choose specific GPU(s)

    • Browse by Machine ID or Server ID
    • Filter by availability status
    • View GPU specifications
  3. Verify GPU availability

    • Status shows "Available for pairing"
    • Not currently paired to another NFT
    • Part of an active server
⚠️

GPU type must match NFT GPU type. Mismatched pairings will be rejected.

5. Review Pairing Details

Verify all information:

  • NFT Token ID and address
  • GPU Machine ID
  • Server location
  • Owner information

6. Confirm Transaction

  1. Click "Confirm pairing"
  2. Review transaction in wallet
  3. Approve transaction
  4. Wait for blockchain confirmation

Pairing confirmation typically takes 30-60 seconds depending on network conditions.

Result

NFT moves to Paired tab with:

  • Full GPU UUID
  • Server ID
  • NFT metadata

GPU in Hardware > GPUs now shows:

  • Token ID
  • Owner information
  • Pairing date

Earnings begin immediately after successful pairing.

Important Notes

One-to-One Relationship

  • One NFT pairs to exactly one GPU
  • One GPU can have exactly one paired NFT
  • This relationship is permanent until unpaired

GPU Type Matching

GPU type must match NFT GPU type:

  • RTX 4090 NFT → RTX 4090 GPU ✅
  • RTX 4090 NFT → H100 GPU ❌

Unpairing

To unpair an NFT from a GPU:

  1. Navigate to NFTs > Paired
  2. Click the three dots icon in the last column of the NFT you wish to unpair
  3. Click "Edit pairing"
  4. Change or remove the pairing

Troubleshooting

"No Available GPUs" Error

Cause: No GPUs of matching type are available for pairing.

Solutions:

  1. Import GPUs via vendor sync
  2. Activate servers in Hardware > Settings
  3. Verify GPUs aren't already paired
  4. Check GPU type matches NFT type

Pairing Transaction Fails

Cause: Blockchain transaction issues or validation errors.

Solutions:

  1. Check network status (Base mainnet)
  2. Retry transaction
  3. Contact support@silicon.net if repeated failures

GPU Doesn't Show Owner After Pairing

Cause: Data sync delay or pairing verification pending.

Solutions:

  1. Wait 2-3 minutes for blockchain confirmation
  2. Refresh the page
  3. Check NFTs > Paired tab to verify pairing completed
  4. Contact support@silicon.net if issue persists beyond 10 minutes

Best Practices

  • Pair NFTs within 24 hours of hardware receipt - Minimize revenue delays
  • Verify GPU type matching - Double-check before confirming
  • Document pairings - Keep records of which NFTs paired to which GPUs
  • Test with one pairing first - Verify process before bulk operations
